    Rachel Machacek, LSW, MSW Social Worker, Palliative Medicine Bon Secours Mercy Health is a registered yoga and meditation teacher. She uses mindfulness-based practices to reduce the stress and anxiety of everyday life and create connections with others. This quarterly At Home in Ashland series is held in partnership with Ashland at Home (http://ashlandathome.org/) and Bon Secours Medical Group.

    BIO: Rachel Machacek is a palliative medicine social worker (LSW) at Bon Secours, specializing with older adults and people of all ages facing terminal illness, grief and loss. She earned a Masters of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University and Bachelor of Arts in English from University of Mary Washington; Rachel also is a registered yoga and meditation teacher (RYT-200). Mindfulness-based practices are foundational to Rachel’s work, and she teaches a variety of populations, including seniors, as a way of reducing the stress and anxiety of daily life, finding connection with others, and as a path toward personal transformation. ABOUT: At Home In Ashland (AHA) is a volunteer 501(c)(3) organization committed to helping seniors age in place in Ashland; offering events, education, and other resources. The quarterly Educational Series brings AHA members and the public together to learn about health and wellness innovations offered by educational partner Bon Secours Medical Group
