The Town of Ashland operates under the council-manager form of government. This system combines the political strength of an elected Town Council with the expertise of a professional manager and staff. The town manager is appointed by the town council to implement the policies they adopt and oversee the daily operations of the town.
The town manager's office employs two staff members to handle administrative functions including providing information to the public, procurement, managing the town staff, and so on. These staff members hold the following positions with the town:
