Carter Park Pool Opening July 2

We are excited to announce Carter Park Pool will open to the public on Thursday, July 2 at 12:00pm. This is not a normal season, so take a deep breath and please read the entire message below.

  • The most current information about the pool will be shared on the Town’s social media accounts and posted at the pool.
  • The pool will open daily beginning July 2 from 12:00pm-8:00pm daily. Once the Ashland Barracudas’ season ends in late July the pool will open at 11:00am daily. The pool will close early on July 8, 15, 22 and 29 for swim meets. Additional dates may be added. Depending on attendance levels, Hanover County school schedule, and the weather the pool season may be extended beyond Labor Day on the weekends.
  • No seasonal memberships will be sold this season due to concerns about having to limit access at some point this season if a spike in coronavirus cases occurs. Daily rates are $5/weekdays, $8/weekends, and $45/10-pass pack. All sales will be handled at the pool, not at Town Hall. The pool may be reserved afterhours for private events within the Forward Virginia Phase 3 guidelines. Contact carterparkpool@gmail.com or leave a voicemail at 804.798.2520 for more information.
  • Every Friday will be FREE for everyone! We all need something to look forward to each week.
  • The pool’s capacity is 280. Following the Forward Virginia Phase 3 guidelines, up to 210 people (75%) may be present in the pool complex at any one time. Pool staff will be monitoring the attendance. Also, depending on the size of groups, and in following the state’s physical distancing requirements, capacity may be reached with less than 210 people.
  • Pool staff will strictly enforce the Phase 3 guidelines, in addition to the normal pool rules, for the safety of all pool patrons and staff. Any pool patron not following the guidelines or instructions of pool staff will be forced to leave the pool complex without a refund. If you, a member of your household, a coworker, or anyone else you have been in contact with is sick or symptomatic please stay home.
  • Everyone should bring their own chair or blanket. Pool furniture will not be set out in order to avoid shared usage for the safety of all pool patrons.
  • No concessions will be sold at this time, and no dive-in movies are currently planned. You may bring your own food and drinks, but you are responsible for disposing of your waste. No alcohol or glass containers are permitted.
  • Have fun and please enjoy responsibly.
