DC2RVA Information

Information about the proposed DC2RVA project changes rapidly.  The Town of Ashland will use this portion of the website to provide its citizens with the most up to date information about the project, upcoming events, and general updates about the progress of the project and how it will impact the Town of Ashland and its residents.

Important Updates

1. The

sixty day public comment window for the Draft Environmental Impact Statement is now open.  It will close on November 7, 2017.  Should you wish to draft your own comment and submit it as part of the record, you can do so at http://dc2rvarail.com/contact-us/.  If you wish to support the Town of Ashland's position you can find a prefilled form at (www.savedowntownashland.org).  By entering your information and hitting send you can support the Town's efforts to prevent a third rail (on the surface or in a trench) from destroying our community.

2. As mentioned below, there will be a public hearing (mentioned below) to comment on the DEIS on October 11, 2017 at Patrick Henry High School.  Please come to this meeting, and share with the state how destructive the a third rail (on the surface or in a trench) would be to our community.  If you are interested in supporting the Town's position at this public hearing, please feel free to use these (coming soon) talking points during your comments at the public hearing.
